Actress Kwak Sun Young is expected to make an appearance in the tvN medical K-drama Resident Playbook.

On April 18, a representative from the K-drama’s Resident Playbook gave an official statement to Newsen regarding Kwak Sun Young’s special appearance, saying, “Please check through the broadcast.”

Resident Playbook, set in the same universe as Hospital Playlist, tells the story of OB/GYN residents, as they navigate challenges to become wise doctors.

Kwak Sun Young left a lasting impression on viewers in Hospital Playlist by playing Lee Ik Sun, the younger sister of Jo Jung Suk’s character, Lee Ik Jun, and an army major. She lit up the screen in her role as the outgoing and quirky sister of Lee Ik Jun.

The special cameo appearances of Hospital Playlist cast members in Resident Playbook have already been hinted at. Director Shin Won Ho mentioned that starting with Chu Min Ha (Ahn Eun Jin), who made a surprise appearance in episode 2, the cameos of other Hospital Playlist actors will be a key highlight for viewers. The return of the beloved five doctors from Yulje Medical Center, Lee Ik Jun (Jo Jung Suk), Ahn Jeong Won (Yoo Yeon Seok), Kim Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho), Yang Seok Hyeong (Kim Dae Myung), and Chae Song Hwa (Jeon Mi Do) has also been confirmed.

At the Resident Playbook Director’s Talk held on April 15, director Shin Won Ho shared, “In almost every episode, characters from Hospital Playlist make cameo appearances. Some scenes are just fun, while others serve as important narrative links. The main actors from Hospital Playlist appear when the writer felt their presence was needed. This week, the stern and intimidating Kim Jun Wan (Jung Kyung Ho) will appear. If you’ve missed Kim Jun-wan, I’d be grateful if you waited and tuned in.”

Meanwhile, Kwak Sun Young is also set to bring viewers season 2 of ENA’s crime drama Crash.
